Internet marketing tips

July 14, 2007

This is interesting news. Based on a recent Nielson/Netratings system of measuring the popularity of websites, AOL is first, with Yahoo!, MSN/Windows Live, Myspace, Google, Ebay, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Apple, and Youtube trailing behind. Well, I'm such a certified Google fanatic so I'm surprised their site is just in the fifth position. As discussed in a newly launched internet marketing blog at allinanchor.com, being the most popular site such as AOL doesn’t necessarily mean it makes more revenue than Google. In the internet ad revenue market, Google is tops. Thus, it's not about the amount of visits your website has but the amount of money generated from your website. And there’s no exact method to measure website popularity. In a ComScore ranking based just on unique visitors, Yahoo! is first followed by AOL. These survey results tend to be subjective, so there really isn’t any way to determine website popularity.

Anyway, that’s just some insights I got from allinanchor.com’s internet marketing blog where you can read more internet marketing tips, news and knowledge on search engine optimization (SEO), lead management and analytics. If you’re interested in knowing what’s new in the internet marketing world, just browse through their informative blog. Aside from the article on AOL beating Google in website popularity, you might be interested to read other articles such as optimizing landing pages, 'pinning' a site to 1st position, or getting to the first position and staying there.
