We need computers!
July 17, 2007If you’re planning to hold a week-long seminar or any short term event and you don’t have computers to use, that’s what you’ll likely hear, right? So, how do you go about it, do you have to buy those computers when you know you’re only going to use them for a week or so? Well yes, some hotels hosting your event could provide you the units but what if you have your own specifications like processor type, memory, hard drive size, and graphic cards?
Establishing a temporary computer network for a training classroom or a convention can be done easily with CRE Rentals. They offer computer rental services from routers and modems, to monitors and laser printers as well as delivery and set up. They can provide a quote online as requested and can custom build computers according to client’s specifications. I remember when we used to hold a three-week training in a university and some of our specifications were not met, it was really tough on the technical side. This is where computer rental is a good idea for those short term events.
Wearing your watches in style
Are you the kind who dislikes monotony and is always looking forward to wearing a different style everyday… with your bags, jewelry, accessories, shoes and even your watches? Yes, I notice some high-end watches have a set of three or so different colored straps to match whatever is the wearer’s mood and attire for the day. It sure is cool to have a choice of bracelets or straps for your watch which you can change as often as you like.

Shopping for baby products?
My cutie sis will be having her baby soon. Of course, we’re all excited to welcome another delightful member of the family. So lately, I’ve been interested in baby stuff too, browsing online for anything about babies – articles and news, accessories, clothes and other baby products. Incidentally, here’s a baby company I like, Minitots.com which serves the needs of expecting parents and their newborn. I like their variety of valuable baby products such as baby cribs, furniture, bedding and feeding accessories. There are some good Minitots coupons online at CouponChief.com which gives big savings on a lot of products, not just baby items but other categories such as automotive and tools, apparel, books and lots more. When shopping online it is good to always use coupon codes. You can’t underestimate the savings you get just with online coupons by following some simple steps: proceed to checkout, enter the promotional code where requested, verify the expected savings on the order confirmation page before completing the process.
One in spirit
We didn't talk about where to dine out to celebrate techie bro's recent birthday but it seems like our minds agreed without even discussing about it. Yup! I asked techie bro before his birthday where he plans to celebrate it and he said in Jakarrat, a Thai restaurant though he said the kids wanted to have it at McDonalds. The Negros bunch (Dad, Mom and I) had dinner here at SM Yellow Cab Pizza on his birthday, so imagine my surprise when he emailed us that the Thailand bunch (big sis and hubby and kids, techie bro and wifey and others) celebrated his birthday at Pizza Company. So, both bunches had pizza for the birthday celebration huh? Yeah we're certified pizza and pasta lovers. Anyway, when things like these happen — wearing same color of shirt, saying something which the other was about to say…when minds agree from trivial things to the most important ones without even talking about it beforehand, all you can just say is "Wow! What a coincidence!" but we usually conclude it's because "we are one in spirit."
Creating your own business cards online
We used to own an internet café and part of the services we offered was accepting orders for desktop publishing jobs. Most of our clients would like us to design business cards for them. Well, they would specify their own preferences like what color and fonts to use, what images to include, and they would go to so many details you’d wish they’d just make their own cards themselves. And since most of them don’t know any of the details of using desktop publishing software, I doubt that very much.
Well, people who would like to go into the details of their own business cards, like the customers we had, can always leave out the technical aspects of making their own cards by going to Great FX business cards, where they can browse through a lot of business card templates, and freely choose which details to include in their design.
Their site’s homepage easily takes you to the design process where you are given two choices to start — the design online option and the upload custom option. The design online option lets you create your own card online. Just click the design online button which will then take you to a page of varied themes (art, beauty, interior design, healthcare, etc.) to choose from, select a front background for your card (you also have the option to add text at the back), and fill up the information to be displayed on your card. While this process is pretty simple, it is a bit confusing since you have to go through some graphics (front and back of the card) and text before filling up the details at the bottom. I think it would have been easier to use the right side space for the online form to avoid scrolling down. The upload custom option, on the other hand, lets you upload your own files for printing. This is good for those who want to use their own company logos or photos.
In general, the site has easy to navigate and straightforward design. I like that they have great resources for their customers and site visitors – informative articles on business card design and marketing, color theory, and design tutorials on graphic design software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Ugh…no more ink!
Yes, our Epson Stylus printer has ran out of colored ink and doesn’t want to print even just one page. Of course, the best solution is to buy what is needed but sometimes I am too busy to even go to the mall for just one inkjet cartridge. Isn’t it cool to have your inkjet cartridges delivered right at your doorstep? It’s as simple as going to the website of Atlantic Inkjet and order from their wide range of printer ink cartridges, inkjet cartridge refills, remanufactured inkjet cartridges and hundreds of other quality, ink-related products.
