More on Europe sights

March 4, 2008

There are still more sights in Europe to mention. But let me particularly blog here about Berlin and Amsterdam. This might interest peeps like me who loves art and architecture.

If you’re an art fanatic, you can travel to Berlin, a city of art, and marvel at the numerous art galleries and array of museums in the city. Here’s one destination in Berlin you shouldn’t miss. It’s the huge Pergamon-Museum located in the "Museum Island" (Museumsinsel), which contains a broad collection of ancient Greek, ancient Middle-Eastern and Islamic art and architecture.  Or you can fly to Amsterdam which has one of the largest historic city centres in Europe, with medieval wooden houses, canal houses and mansions to explore.  You can make use of the cities’ excellent mode of public transport: bus, train, tram and underground transportation to move around.

CheaperthanHotels.co.uk, not only offers cheaper room rates on Amsterdam accommodation or Berlin accommodation, they also have last minute deals on Brussels accommodation, accommodation in Paris or accommodation in London. So don’t put-off visiting some of Europe’s major cities coz there’s a best deal on
accommodation waiting for you.

The Phantom of the Opera at Vegas

The Las Vegas rendition of the longest-running musicale in Broadway history: The Phantom of the Opera, Winner of 7 Tony Awards in 1988 including Best Musical, has been a spectacular hit. I’m talking about Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom. It is the rated # 1 show in Las Vegas one shouldn’t miss even if you’ve already seen "The Phantom of the Opera". I bet a Las Vegas hotel nearby is fully-packed with musicale-goers.

Trendy car spoilers

There was a time when I was looking for a car so I can conveniently drive it. The van we have is too big for me to handle. My dad won’t let me drive it. So yesterday while we were shopping in the mall, I happen to pass by a car display center. As I was gazing at the different vehicles on display, one model with one of those lip car spoilers at the rear caught my attention. Though all of them look sleek, the rear style added a trendy look on the car.

When in Rome

March 1, 2008

Here’s another destination that falls under Mediterranean Europe, the "Eternal  City" Rome, the capital of Italy. Rome is famous for the Vatican City, the independent Papal State within the city of Rome, where St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums and Castel Sant’Angelo are located. And for some travelers, Rome is also their destination for:
Colosseum - the most famous Roman landmark properly known as the Flavian Amphitheatre
Spanish Steps - an enormous stairway of 135 steps
Roman Forum - the heart of ancient Rome
Trastevere - the center of a very interesting Roman night life, rich in pubs, restaurants, clubs
Trevi Fountain - where throwing one, two or three coins with one’s right hand over one’s left shoulder into the fountain is a practice granted with good luck.
