Drunk driving defense

April 21, 2009

Recently at my nephew’s graduation party, we had some guests drinking few beers while having a good time conversing with friends. Some guys had to say no to more drinks though as they still had to drive on their way home. Now that’s being a responsible driver. We don’t want them driving in a zigzag direction, weaving or swerving on their way home, which could possibly end in an accident. These drunk drivers should really be taught a lesson and should be arrested.

In the US, getting arrested by troopers for DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) offense can be tough. Once the case is lost in court, it’s a big blow not just financially but career-wise, because of license suspension and being given a permanent criminal record. This could also mean losing your job and facing fines or penalties.

Unfortunately, some troopers exaggerate or make mistakes and some drivers are innocently arrested. Thus, getting a lawyer to handle cases such as these is important. Edward Sharkansky, previously a prosecutor and now a Massachusetts OUI Lawyer can represent those charged with OUI cases. Check out his website at www.maduilaw.com to learn more about drunk driving defense issues and his blog where several cases about his clients are discussed.
