Books are good for the soul
May 20, 2009“A book must be an ice-axe to break the seas frozen inside our soul.” Franz Kafka
How can we not be busy these days? There are a multitude of tasks waiting for us to tackle, competing for our attention and oftentimes we end up confused about which to prioritize. Thus, it’s not a surprise that most of us are finding ways to be in contact with what really matters most in our lives. We take vacations or visit a friend, go for a walk or play a bit, and engage in other activities to give us that much needed break. Another diversion that’s very much good for the soul is reading books, and this is what I’ve been meaning to include in my daily schedule.
With the wide range of book genres available in the market these days, one can easily find himself something to read, from inspirational and self-help books to fiction and fantasy. The choices are too many especially when you browse over at Borders, an online resource for books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and other reading materials.
Those who consider themselves super busy can still include books in their to-do-list. Thanks to the option of having audio books, now they can ‘listen’ to their favorite stories while doing other things. With audio books, even busy moms can listen to one of their favorite fiction books while keeping the house neat.
Audio books featured at Borders May 2009 highlights include bestsellers ‘Dreams from My Father’ by US President Barack Obama, ‘Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne and ‘White Tiger’ by Aravind Adiga. In the fiction category, Paolo Coelho fans can check out Borders as they feature this bestselling author’s books to mark the release of his latest novel ‘The Winner Stands Alone’.
