Until now I still haven’t bought my dream treadmill. Even if I do have my dance-exercise routines (though with my recent hectic schedule, I haven’t been doing them lately), I still long to have my own exercise machine at home to keep me fit. Electronic treadmills are great since they come with tracking programs that one can use to monitor distance, rate and lots more. One can also incline the treadmill up and do some “climbing” to exercise the knee joints.
According to Teri Van Horn, a Houston Wedding Design Examiner, bridesmaids’ gifts are always a challenge. I couldn’t agree more. For me, the tokens for the bridesmaids need not be expensive, and they can be simple and unique if added with some creativity. Van Horn suggests something unique: a personalized rubber stamp with the bridesmaid’s name in an elegant script. Write out their names and find a good store that could turn them into rubber stamps. Then wrap in a nice box with the bridesmaid’s name stamped on top and tie with a pretty ribbon. Sounds like a great gift idea indeed!
Whew! My big sis and her family will be going back to Europe again (they’re leaving for Manila early tomorrow) and their one-month Philippine vacation will be ending soon. Sigh. I will be missing them sooo much!
They’re here at home for a two-week stay, and too bad we were not able to tour them around that much as the kids got sick the first few days they were here. Rj and Az got some tummy aches and headaches. Thank God they’re better the following days. Vitamin C, medicine and lots of rest plus proper eating habits made them well.

Ever walked into a home and go dizzy with the mix of different textures and materials for the finish? Variety is good but one doesn’t have to go overboard. You walk into the living room and see the flooring in ceramic tiles, then you go to the kichen and step into linoleum. Design experts recommend consistency with the flooring materials. Yes, the style of the tiles and the colors can be mixed but the materials used should be consistent. Few flooring materials can be good for accent though, but having an assortment of different tiles such as granite, wood, marble, slate and other materials on different parts of the house often results to an overall design clash.
Whew! So many things are happening lately in our family. First, my sis, her hubby and three kids are here for a vacation from Europe, so we’ve been out most of the time going someplace and attending to their needs. Then sad news came yesterday with the death of my uncle. Some financial matters (i.e. major investments) are coming up as well. There’s also an online class I’m currently doing and it’s been challenging for me as it needs some focus and extra time. I’m also happy for two soon-to-be moms, my friend in the US and my cutie sis! Oh well… life hands over some highs and lows for us.

Yes, it will not only save you from stacking up plastic bags at home, it will also help you save the planet. Ok, this may sound too heroic, but yes, bring your SM green bag when shopping at SM. If you’re like me who’s not so fond about keeping plastic bags at home, then buying an SM green bag is a good idea. Give it to the cashier before she busies herself with the barcode scanner on your purchases. If you’re an SM Advantage card holder, you get two points per bag.
As we all know, Microsoft recently launched its search engine with a simple name “Bing” to compete with the search engine giant Google. Landing on Bing’s homepage (www.bing.com) is a totally different experience than that of Google. You would immediately notice the visually appealing background of Bing which features scenic views from places around the world.
For travelers, there’s Bing Travel (www.bing.com/travel) dubbed as a ‘decision engine’ for those planning their holidays or trips which immediately displays travel tools courtesy of Farecast, a company acquired by Microsoft. Users can input their travel details and flight information such as departure and destination, travel period, number of persons flying or flight class. There’s an option to compare search from other online travel sites such as Hotwire, Expedia and Priceline.

US President Barack Obama plans to improve America’s quality of health care with his push to computerize all medical records. According to him, “This will cut waste, eliminate red tape and reduce the need to repeat expensive medical tests. But it just won’t save billions of dollars and thousands of jobs; it will save lives by reducing the deadly but preventable medical errors that pervade our health care system.” This move is very much supported by the experts as a system to minimize medical mistakes, although the implementation cost may be high.

As a move to reduce the annual budget on educational materials, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to provide free open-source digital textbooks accessible for high school math and science classes all over the state. This idea has been met with doubt by some critics regarding factors such as cost savings, technology investment and teacher training. While more college campuses are now using open-source materials, implementing digital textbook technology on traditional textbooks such as math and science subjects is still subject to debate.

This is sooo cool! Barcode scanners are not just for department stores anymore, they’re very much useful for making our lives easier, such as speeding up the manual task of inputting ISBNs for Google Books list.
Matt Cutts of Google shows us in detail via YouTube video below how to import the ISBNs from the barcode printed at the back cover of four sample books, a USB barcode scanner was plugged to his laptop and was used in scanning the ISBNs.

Life is considered as a precious gift from God and as individuals we have a purpose in life. Thus, it is significant that we have to manage and live life with God. But aside from our spiritual needs, we also need to nourish our bodies, take our vitamins, chat with our family and friends or engage in some extracurricular activities for fun and recreation.

It’s not only common sense, it’s also a regulation by the Delaware City Council which recently amended the city code regarding outdoor furniture. Thus residents should keep their sofas and mattresses indoors as according to the code, “No person shall place, use, keep, store, sell, collect, leave, permit, or maintain or suffer to remain outdoors any couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, rugs, or other furniture or appliances not expressly manufactured for outdoor use.” In case of garage sale, such items are allowed to be outdoors but still should be according to specific guidelines.
