Slim, lightweight, portable and power-packed computers

January 16, 2010

Slim is in! And this goes not only for those who are currently searching for the best diet aids to lose weight, it also means a lot to those who want portability and power when it comes to their netbooks and laptops.

For instance, there’s Acer Timeline with its less than an inch thick notebook computers and their “Light.as.can.be” tagline. Lenovo has its “smartbook” device which is not only slim but comes with a long-lasting battery and weighs just less than two pounds.

Yup, the trend is pushing towards slimmer and lighter portable laptops and netbooks. “I think what netbooks have done is really opened consumers’ eyes to the concept of mobility,” said Toshiba Corp. director of product marketing Philip Osako.
