On power outages
October 17, 2011The recent weekend was a busy one for us. We had a community affair on Saturday and needed to prepare lots of stuff. To top it off, dinner was served here at home, so we did a lot of cooking and cleaning. Whew! We cooked sweet and sour fish, mixed veggies, pork with pineapple and lumpia (spring rolls). Other community members brought some dishes as well for dinner.
Good thing we had continuous electricity. The past days, our local electric company would fail us with intermittent power outages. You could just imagine most households complaining about this. I’m sure some folks have readied themselves with aa or aaa rechargeable batteries and emergency lights for some special occasions.
Thankfully, our community dinner here at home went on without a hitch concerning power failures. It would be such as shame to have a brownout to greet our guests. Otherwise we’d have to take our emergency lamps and flashlights for that or maybe settle for dinner with candlelight instead.
