Personal management rekindled

January 24, 2012

I’ve installed the Evernote app on my phone, started using the Pomodoro technique, made a personalized monthly calendar where I can easily track my weekly goals, and recently bought a new organizer. But all this attempts at managing my time and priorities seem to be lacking. So, one fine night, I sat up and started to go back to basics. I reread Stephen Covey’s classic bestseller, the “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”.

It’s good to be reminded again about what truly matters most to me, and what my priorities are, because sometimes my mind can easily be unfocused, distracted, or spinning crazily like one of those chinese yoyos. Thanks to Covey’s book. Now, I’m back to being more firm and disciplined with regards to reaching my goals. I am still with Habit 2 based on the book, and looking forward to reading more and finishing the whole book before I reward myself with buying Covey’s “The 8th Habit”.
